Mother's Day
May. 14th, 2006 03:06 pmmy attempt up in flames XD
firstly, i had not planned anything for mother's day. yes... i am that utterly useless. and also the guilt that nagged at me when i forgot to make my dad a birthday card. yes, i remembered his birthday but i totally forgot about the card ._. *gets shot*
so. i started thinking of ways to well... do something. in the end, the idea came to me: COOK! (the word that
forlorn_slayer fears the most XD) so, i thought of pancake with dragon fruit. it sounded yummy so yeah. i thought of making it for tea-time. so yeah. close kitchen door and mixed flour, egg and milk. then take out frying pan and attempted to make a pancake.
first attempt - too thick. it became a mushy gooey omelette (which my dad ate a mouthfull and declared edible) T___T
second attempt - still too thick, double omelette T_______________T
third attempt - gave up on pancake idea and used remaining batter to make french toast... tasteless. *cries in failure*
then. my mum stepped in. and we cooked together. my mum has never taken any of my cooking attempts seriously ._. though today, my mum taught me how to make pancake. and french toast. the way she nodded and grinned at me when she managed to flip a pancake perfectly on the frying pan made me giggle and blush. i felt like a 4 year old attempting to make her parents breakfast in bed. well, everything turned out well in the end. i was happy. ^____^ and my omelette became my dog's dinner XD
though i didn't say it in real life. Happy Mother's Day, Mum. <3 you~ ^___^
