Alrighty~

I'll be doing an original chinese cosplay with [profile] forlorn_slayer and now the designs for the costumes are out... the only problem is... the story.

The cosplay is based on the concept of Yin and Yang. [profile] forlorn_slayer as Yang and me as Yin. In the Yu-Gi-Oh concept, it would be Hikari and Yami. In a normal perspective, it would be Light and Darkness. My first idea was that they are sisters, that idea is down the drain. Then I thought of them both being apprentices, I haven't really gave a thought of how it will work out. So, I just wrote this little piece which I think sucks... but my brain is dry.

Yin and Yang have no blood relation whatsoever. The only thing that binds them together is their martial arts teacher. They are the best students of this master though each are taught a different kind of martial arts. Art A and Art B requires them to fight together then only would it be effective. They pretty much hate each others' guts because of their different attitudes and believes. After their master died, they were both competing against each other to replace their master's place as the head in the martial arts school. [Yup, which means they tried killing each other] Finally, they quit competing against each other and finally understand the concept of Yin and Yang.

Yin uses a chinese sword, a small one and Yang uses two daggers. [But if the Yang cosplayer can get another sword, she will be using two swords then... haha]Yin is the peaceful and quiet one while Yang is the trouble-making, noisy one.

Sucky yeah? -______-;;; I'm wondering where the A1 for English 1119 came from. Well, if anyone can come up with something that revolves around that concept then it's fine... I know there are a lot of good writers out there... so help!

----------------------------------------------------

Here's the principles of Yin and Yang:

1. Yin and yang are opposites.

Everything has its opposite—although this is never absolute, only comparative. No one thing is completely yin or completely yang. Each contains the seed of its opposite. For example, winter can turn into summer; "what goes up must come down".

2. Yin and yang are interdependent.

One cannot exist without the other. For example, day cannot exist without night.

3. Yin and yang can be further subdivided into yin and yang.

Any yin or yang aspect can be further subdivided into yin and yang. For example, temperature can be seen as either hot or cold. However, hot can be further divided into warm or burning; cold into cool or icy. Within each spectrum, there is a smaller spectrum; every beginning is a moment in time, and has a beginning and end, just as every hour has a beginning and end.

4. Yin and yang consume and support each other.

Yin and yang are usually held in balance—as one increases, the other decreases. However, imbalances can occur. There are four possible imbalances: Excess yin, excess yang, yin deficiency, and yang deficiency. They can again be seen as a pair: by excess of yin there is yang deficiency and vice versa. The imbalance is also a relative factor: the excess of yang "forces" yin to be more "concentrated".

5. Yin and yang can transform into one another.

At a particular stage, yin can transform into yang and vice versa. For example, night changes into day; warmth cools; life changes to death. However this transformation is relative too. Night and day coexist on Earth at the same time when shown from space.

6. Part of yin is in yang and part of yang is in yin.

The dots in each serve: 1. as a reminder that there are always traces of one in the other. For example, there is always light within the dark (e.g., the stars at night), these qualities are never completely one or the other. 2. as a reminder that absolute extreme side transforms instantly into the opposite, or that the labels yin and yang are conditioned by an observer's point of view. For example, the hardest stone is easiest to break. This can show that absolute discrimination between the two is artificial.

Well, the story doesn't have to rely fully on all the 6 principles above like number 5... *laughs* no way that can happen lah... don't want the story to be too fantasy-like. Trying to make it something that possibly can happen in real life. If anyone can help in anyway at all, please do~ I'm pretty much desperate? *cries* Will post the costume designs as soon as [profile] darkav_angel is done with Yang. *hugs [profile] darkav_angel* The design of our version of the Yin and Yang symbol is also out. But again, need [profile] darkav_angel's clearer drawing of it. Will have to figure out the symbol's meaning too~

Until then... I'll continue wrecking my brain. Any help will be eternally appreciated~

EDIT: I just found out that black is Yin and white is Yang. So nyaa~ I'm Yang... and [profile] forlorn_slayer is Yin XDXD
