Attended the 'I love Hada Labo' event with [livejournal.com profile] forlorn_slayer.

It was held at a pretty Japanese restaurant, Fukuya. Details on the place here.

Lada Habo is a brand originated in Japan by Mentholatum and Rohto Pharmaceutical Japan. They're pretty new in Malaysia; it was launched in October 2009.

I know nuts about this brand, seriously. The only product of Rohto's I've used is the Rohto Cube which is moisturizing eye drops for contact lenses. As for Mentholatum, who hasn't used their lip balm, really?

So when [livejournal.com profile] forlorn_slayer called me, spazzing about this event, I pretty much went along for curiousity's sake. I don't eat much Japanese food so it's maybe only 40-50% of the factor lol.

They have over 11,000 fans on facebook and only 35 could RSVP for the event. Really, this is one of [livejournal.com profile] forlorn_slayer best stalks lol.

First, the event.

We were asked to register when we arrived and they asked that we fill up a lucky draw card.

The lucky draw included completing a slogan and signing 'I love Hada Labo' in the most creative way you can. It's not exactly part of the competition, it was just for fun lol.

Then ushered to take a photo with a 'I love Hada Labo' plate. (I don't know what to call it, really). We got to keep the 'plate'. The photographer is a fun guy, constantly laughing and talking. And he takes nice photos. I'm just waiting for the group photo to appear on facebook.

There were 3 product ranges being introduced. From left: The exfoliating range followed by the moisturizing and the whitening range.

This is Fukuya's awesome 4 platter for 5 person feast. FEAST. There was free flowing fruit juice and green tea. And they served miso soup as well.

This is half a scallop by the way. The size amazed me so I had to take a photo lol. [livejournal.com profile] forlorn_slayer said the salmon is thick, fresh and chewy. I assume that's a good thing. The macha ice-cream is absolute heaven. Thick, milky, fragrant green tea ice-cream. The best I've had so far. (And no, I haven't eaten Haagen Daes')

While we were pigging XP, the marketing person was explaning to us the difference between Hyaluronic Acid, Super Hyaluronic Acid and Nano Hyaluronic Acid. I don't even know how to pronounce that ._. (The photos are proof that I wasn't only pigging. I gained knowledge. Somewhat)

Hyaluronic Acid is the big candles in the glass container followed by the ping pong balls which are Super Hyaluronic Acid. Nano Hyaluronic Acid is the sand that fills in the rest of the space. What's the big deal about Hyaluronic Acid? Hyaluronic Acid mimics the skin's inherent moisturizing ability to improve water retention of the skin by nourishing and preserving the optimum moisture balance. I didn't come up with that. That's what Lada Habo told me X3

There was also the announcement of a foam wash being launched in September. It's a limited edition foam wash that with each pump, the pressure from the nozzle automatically creates foam for you.

Next was product testing. We tried 2 items: the moisturizing lotion and the face mist. The moisturizing lotion is actually a TONER. And the face mist is... face mist.

Aleena getting her skin's moisture level tested and the card we had to fill up. Just 2 drops of the toner increased my moisture level from 20.1% to 49.5% Not a very big difference but good enough =D Most importantly, all you need is just 2 drops and your whole face is covered in glistening lotion.

Bear in mind that this is TONER we're talking about. Most toners will actually dry your skin up. This one does the opposite.

The face mist really forms mist. You have to spray it really close to your face to avoid it flying all over the face and landing on other places BESIDES your face.

Finally, it was door gift time *o* There's a 30ml moisturizing lotion, 50g moisturizing cream, 45ml face mist, 3.5g lip moisturizer, one face mask and 10 packs of guardian's green tea mini tissues. All of them are full sized items except for the moisturizing lotion. The next table was squealing with happiness as they opened their gift packs lol.

So far, I really like the brand for one main reason: it's helping me save money. Judging by the texture and the 'pekat-ness' (because I can't think of another word) of the items, it can last me a long time. And they don't cost as much as the other high quality premium products.

We were then left to mingle and jakun around Fukuya. [livejournal.com profile] karie89 also attended the event. So here's a camwhore photo of [livejournal.com profile] karie89, [livejournal.com profile] forlorn_slayer and myself.

Fukuya is really pretty. It looks like a potential photoshoot area but I've no idea whether they'll allow it.

Here's [livejournal.com profile] forlorn_slayer in my photo frame.

The view from the entrance and the view from the front door. Pretty yes? It reminds me of Kuroshitsuji's stone garden.

We didn't mingle long because THIS happened. A lady was reversing her car and scratched my car along =______________=;;; The best part was that she hardly had a sense of remorse and didn't even apologize. Hello manners? In fact she acted like nothing happened! Thank goodness for the jockey guy who called me out of the place if not she would have gone off without a word!

I'm arranging to meet up with her next week to get it repaired. See? I'm the one arranging! Really not a tiny bit of remorse! And the best part was that her car was all scratched on all 4 corners. No wonder it's nothing to her.

The best part was that her HUSBAND called me. First reaction was "WTF HUSBAND????!!!". She looks very young. Maybe about my age. I thought she was a student so I asked her to call her parents and discuss with them what to do.

Her husband asked to talk to my dad and by the time they were done, I could only assume that the other party was worried that we would con them by asking the mechanic to alter the receipt =____=;; For my dad to say "Hey, we're not asking you to pay for the sky", I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

So much for a good day.

What a way to end the day pif.

Judging from the scratches, more than we think. The woman also is a dumbass. That's okay.
